Cascadia ’10 is the echo of Afrobeat in the Pacific Northwest—a seductive, sinuous sound resonating from Nigeria to the Emerald City. This stylish nine-piece army brings crowds to dancefloors everywhere with their original brand of hypnotic Afro-funk. Wisely steeped in both old and new styles of the genre and lovingly reminiscent of Fela Kuti and The Budos band, Cascadia ’10 also brims with eloquent soloists on horns and guitar.
D-Pression consists of producers Jay B and Solley.
Jay B has been into Jungle/Drum & Bass since 1994 after hearing mix tapes from the legendary club “Sterns”.
He started collecting vinyl in 1996, bought his first decks in 1997 and has been DJing ever since.
He’s been involved in running his own events in his hometown of Worthing, always striving to play less conventional Drum & Bass, and hopefully this shows in his mixes today. He held a residency at Volks in Brighton and has played across England with DJs like Andy C, Fabio, Friction, SS, Hive and Evol Intent.
Highlights so far for Jay B have included winning the Knowledge Magazine Mixtape competition and playing in the final at One Nation in Brixton Academy, plus he also played in Miami at the WMC.
Solley has more of a musical background playing the guitar from a young age. He got into music production about 10 years ago but has focused on making Drum & Bass since 2006, after being inspired by the early Pendulum work, Klute, John B and the Metalheadz sound.
He didn’t have to wait too long for his first release, which was a collaboration with Mace on Planet Funk – “Light Up The Darkness”.
Solley and Jay B began making tunes together in 2007 and formed D-Pression in 2010. Their monthly Podcast has been going since October 2010 and is still going strong. Their ethos is to play the entire spectrum of Drum & Bass as well as showcasing their own productions.
Born Ruffians are a Canadian indie rock band formed in 2004, originally from Midland, Ontario, located near Georgian Bay. They are currently signed to Warp Records and Paper Bag Records. The members are Luke Lalonde (guitar/vocals), Mitch Derosier (bass), Andy Lloyd (guitar/keyboard) and Steven Hamelin (drums).
John Vanderslice (born in Gainesville, Florida) is an American musician, songwriter, record producer, and recording engineer. He is the owner and founder of Tiny Telephone, a San Francisco Mission District analog recording studio.
In 10 full-length albums, and 5 remix records and EPs, Vanderslice’s songwriting is characterized by deeply personal and political lyrics and the use of experimental analog recording techniques. His declared musical influences are diverse, ranging from Neutral Milk Hotel and Radiohead to Public Enemy and Henry Cowell. He has collaborated with renowned musicians such as The Mountain Goats, St. Vincent, and Spoon.
Ray Wylie Hubbard is a Texas Country singer and songwriter.

Hubbard grew up in town of Hugo, Oklahoma. His family moved to Oak Cliff in south Dallas, Texas in 1954. He attended W. H. Adamson High School with Michael Martin Murphey, who had his own band at the time. Hubbard graduated in 1965 and enrolled in college, at the University of North Texas, as an English major. He spent the summers in Red River, New Mexico playing folk music.

During his time in New Mexico, Hubbard wrote “Up Against the Wall, Redneck Mother”, made famous by Jerry Jeff Walker’s 1973 recording. Hubbard recorded for various labels but struggled with sales; his mix of country, folk and blues elements didn’t find an audience. After leaving the scene and struggling with personal problems, he returned to recording with Lost Train of Thought in 1992 and Loco Gringo’s Lament in 1994.
Today Ray Wylie Hubbard is an elder statesman of the Texas music scene. From New Braunfels, Texas, Hubbard hosts a Tuesday night radio show called “Roots & Branches”. This program promotes new and established Americana artists. Like some other performers in his genre, he is perhaps as popular in Europe as in the US—Hubbard has been invited by record companies in the Netherlands to produce albums. His most recent recordings have been produced by Texas guitarist Gurf Morlix.
